Disbud Holds Traditional Theater Festival 2024

The Jakarta Culture Agency (Disbud) is holding the Traditional Theater Festival 2024 at the Miss Tjitjih Arts Building and the Jakarta Arts Building, Central Jakarta from June 23 to 29, 2024.

The Traditional Theater Festival is a non-competitive activity as an effort to invite people to reacquaint themselves with and explore various folk tales that have local wisdom values which can help prevent the erosion of customs and traditions among the younger generation.
Jakarta Culture Agency Head, Iwan Henry Wardhana stated it is an effort to build culture through character formation and learning to interact socially through characters in the plot of a story played on the stage of a Traditional Theater performance.

The first day's performance was staged by Sanggar Pusaka Joglo with the title 'Mati Torch' which is a traditional lenong theater.
